Panelist on Upstate Social Sessions

On October 31st, a conference called 'Upstate Social Sessions' took place in downtown Rochester. Upstate Social Sessions served as a day to inspire and educate the community on the value of social media in our personal and professional lives. This day-long conference featured national and local professionals who’ve proven social prowess in their field. This was the first social media conference of this scale to take place Rochester, NY. Sir Rocha Says aka Linh Phillips was featured as one of the panelists during the Tweet, Drink, and Be Merry session.

Speakers ranged from Kyle Psaty: Product marketing director for Brand Networks, Caitlin Van Horn: Marketing coordinator for Brooklyn Brewery, Jon Alhart: Vice president of social and digital Media for Dixon Schwabl, Alex Fitzpatrick: Deputy editor for Time Magazine, Tim Lampe: Managed CNN Instagram, listed in TIME's Top 50 Instagrams in U.S.,  and Adri Cowan: Social media manager for Marvel Comics. There were also many other notable panelists such as Rachel Barnhart: News Anchor on Channel 8, Mike Johansson: RIT Senior Lecturer, yours truly, and many others!

The Tweet, Drink, and Be Merry session was centered on social media in the Hospitality Industry. On this panel sat: Caitlin Van Horn, the social media manager from Brooklyn Brewery , Pat Fisher, the director of social media from one of Buffalo's premier Taco trucks, Where's Lloyd, and Linh Phillips aka the voice and creator of Sir Rocha Says. The panel was moderated by the talented Christine Dionese from Garden Eats, a guru in food therapy and journalism.
